Encephalitis means inflammation of the brain. It is a rare disorder which in itself presents a challenge for those who have the misfortune to come across the illness. Very few people will have any previous knowledge of the forms it takes and of its consequences. Most often the illness is short lived but its consequences can be lifelong.
